English Language iTutoring Ltd has released Speak and Improve.
Speak & Improve is a research project developed with the University of Cambridge and Enhanced Speech Technology. The beta version of the product supports English language learners with a tool that allows them to practise their spoken English. Speak & Improve uses a new automated speech assessment engine which returns a score on the CEFR scale. SandI, the speech robot, can tell how well a student speaks English just by listening to them.
Users of Speak and Improve are also contributing to improving the technology that will help English learners around the world. This approach was used to develop ELiT’s successful product Write & Improve, and new versions of Speak & Improve will be released during 2019.
